Privacy Policy
Effective April 4, 2026
On Deck helps comedians write jokes, track open mics, record sets, and sync notes across devices. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
What we collect
- A private guest workspace identifier stored on your device so the app can reopen the same joke library later.
- Joke titles, joke body text, tags, recordings, and feedback you choose to save.
- Approximate or device-provided location when you record a set or open nearby mic tools.
- Basic technical logs needed to keep syncing, authentication, and storage working.
How we use the data
- To sync your workspace between phone and web.
- To connect a desktop browser to your phone workspace when you enter or scan a temporary pairing code.
- To label recordings with nearby venues or street-level context.
- To power joke analysis, rehearsal insights, and open mic planning tools.
- To keep the service secure and troubleshoot failures.
Private by default
Your workspace is private by default. The app does not require an email login to start, and the developer does not routinely browse user jokes or recordings. Access to content may still occur only in narrow situations such as a user-requested support issue, a legal obligation, or essential service maintenance.
Audio and location
Recordings are captured only when you start a recording. Location is requested only when the feature needs it, such as venue labeling or nearby open mic views. You can deny permissions, but some features may work in a reduced mode.
Third-party services
The app currently relies on Firebase for guest workspace cloud sync and pairing. Some optional features may use third-party APIs, such as mapping, venue lookup, or AI analysis providers, when configured.
Data retention
Your synced content stays stored until you delete it or request account deletion. Locally cached data may remain on your device until you uninstall the app or clear storage.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13.
Beta note
During beta, features may change quickly and some data handling details may evolve. Review this page periodically for updates.
